Salient Features of the ICMAB – UIU Partnership
Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Between the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the United International University (UIU) is signed on the 2nd day of October 2023.

It is the intention of the two parties mentioned above to build up a strategic alliance and tie between them to co-operate each other through recognizing students of both the organizations to offer accelerated path to earn respective degrees. The parties intend to work together for further improving the education, undertaking collaborative research, organizing joint programs and exploring other opportunities within the core area of business of both the organizations. As per the MoA, ICMAB students/members could obtain BBA/MBA degree from UIU through following accelerated route.
BBA FROM UIU
This offer is specially designed for students who enrolled with ICMAB after passing HSC or equivalent exams through Intermediate Entry Route (IER) or non-business academic background students enrolled with ICMAB under Graduate Entry Route (GER). ICMAB students may obtain BBA degree major in Accounting Information Systems (AIS) or major in any other area.
To obtain BBA from UIU, one shall complete 41 courses and an internship. As per the MoA, UIU offers ICMAB students/members course waiver and credit transfer facility for the BBA degree based on their CMA completion status. For the waived courses, ICMAB students will get ‘Waived’ grade in the BBA transcript. However, for the credit transfer courses, BBA transcript will report a grade finalize by an equivalence committee formed for the purpose. ICMAB will provide student transcript to the equivalence committee to identify relevant ICMAB courses and to finalize the grades for the credit transfer courses.

ICMAB Students aspire for BBA major in AIS
Under the MoA, 41 courses (122 credit hours) have been grouped into three categories, namely, waived courses (21 courses out of 41), Credit Transfer Courses (10 courses out of 41) and compulsory courses (10 courses out of 41). Compulsory courses (and an internship) are required for all, but the waived courses and credit transfer courses depends on the CMA completion status of an ICMAB student. ICMAB Members aspire for MBA in Professional Accounting
Under the MoA, UIU School of Business and Economics will waive 10 courses and allow credit transfer facility to another 2 courses to ICMAB members as per the course mapping below. Members of ICMAB shall be awarded MBA in Professional Accounting on completion of remaining 8 courses including consultancy project/dissertation (total 24 credit hours) from UIU in approximately two trimesters.

ICMAB Students aspire for MBA in Professional Accounting
ICMAB students who have admitted through Graduate Entry Route (GER) may opt for MBA in Professional Accounting from United International University. In such case, ICMAB students can apply for admission at MBA Program of UIU on completion of Foundation Level from ICMAB. The students of ICMAB shall get waiver of 8 courses out of 20 courses. On completion of other 12 courses including consultancy project/dissertation, they shall be awarded MBA in Professional Accounting from UIU. In addition, these students after completing Intermediate Level I or Intermediate Level II may pursue MBA in Professional Accounting on completion of minimum 8 courses (instead of 12 courses) based on the decision of the Equivalence Committee. The mapping of the courses is given below.
