ICMAB and IUB ink MoU for Academic Collaboration
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the Independent University, Bangladesh have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the IUB Campus, marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals. The MoU was signed by Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Vice-President, ICMAB and Mr. Tanweer Hasan, PhD, Vice Chancellor, IUB in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Council Member, Prof. Md. Zakaria Masud FCMA, PhD, Director, Academic Affairs Division, ICMAB, Mr. Mohammad Ruhul Quddus ACMA and Mr. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department. Maqbool Kader Quraishi, PhD, Head, Department of Accounting, Mr. Md. Safiuddin ACMA, Senior Lecturer and the faculty members of IUB witnessed the ceremony.
This agreement paves the way for IUB students and graduates to benefit from course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA program. The collaboration extends beyond these benefits, with ICMAB and IUB committing to work together in areas that align with their core business interests. During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of IUB, Mr. Tanweer Hasan, PhD expressed his gratitude towards ICMAB and encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities. ICMAB Vice President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, lauded IUB for their cooperation and emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession. The initiative was praised by all participants who agreed to actively work towards fulfilling the objectives set out in the MoU.

ICMAB COURSE WAIVER FOR IUB BBA GRADUATES
- IUB BBA graduates shall enjoy the waiver facility for pursuing a CMA program from ICMAB fulfilling the requirements of Table 1. Moreover, students who aspire to pursue the CMA program simultaneously with the IUB BBA program shall enjoy waiver of the listed ICMAB subjects (under ‘subject to subject’ waiver of table 1) if they have completed the corresponding subject(s) from IUB with minimum average GPA of 3.20 in a 4-point scale.

ICMAB ADMISSION SCHOLARSHIP FOR IUB GRADUATES
- IUB BBA/MBA graduates shall enjoy the admission scholarship facility for pursing ICMAB courses. The scholarship covers the ICMAB admission cost (i.e., Tk. 28,500) as stated in Table 2.
