Partnership with EDU
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the East Delta University (EDU) based in Chattogram have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On Saturday, March 09, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the EDU Conference Room of the Board of Trustee (BoT), marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Uddin FCA, FCMA, President of ICMAB, and Dr. Mohammed Nazim Uddin, Vice Chancellor of EDU, in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Mr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA, Vice President; Mr. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA, Treasurer; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA, Executive Director ( Additional Charge ) and Mr. Mohammad Shaheed, FCA, FCMA, Vice Chairman, Chattogram Branch Council; Mr. Mohammedul Hoque, Assistant Director, Chattogram Branch, conversely Mr. Sayeed Al Noman, founder Vice Chairman; Professor Dr. Siddique Ahmed Chowdhury, Treasurer; Professor M Sikandar Khan, Professorial Fellow And Advisor to BoT; Professor Shams-ud Doha, Financial Advisor to BoT; Dr. Rashed Al Karim, Dean of School of Business Administration; Assistant Professor Md. Asaduzzaman, Assistant Professor Tabassum Chowdhury, Assistant Professor Fahmida Akhter, Assistant Professor Rawnak Afroza, Lecturer Fathima Nabeelah Yoonoos Murtaza, Lecturer Anwar Hossain on behalf of EDU witnessed the ceremony.
This agreement paves the way for EDU students and graduates to benefit from course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA program. The collaboration extends beyond these benefits, with ICMAB and EDU committing to work together in areas that align with their core business interests. During the ceremony, EDU founder Vice Chairman Mr. Sayeed Al Noman and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohammed Nazim Uddin expressed gratitude towards ICMAB.
They encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities. ICMAB President, Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Uddin, lauded EDU for their cooperation and emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession. He also focused on facilitating EDU on various academic courses through CMA professionals that require professional and practical expertise. The participants appreciated the initiative and agreed to work together to fulfill the MoU’s objectives.

ICMAB COURSE WAIVER FOR EDU BBA GRADUATES
EDU BBA graduates shall enjoy the waiver facility for pursuing CMA program from ICMAB fulfilling the requirements of Table 1. Moreover, students aspire to pursue CMA program simultaneously with EDU BBA program, shall enjoy waiver of the listed ICMAB subjects (under ‘subject to subject’ waiver of table 1) if they have completed the corresponding subject(s) from EDU with minimum average GPA of 3.20 in a 4-point scale.

ICMAB ADMISSION SCHOLARSHIP FOR EDU GRADUATES
EDU BBA/MBA graduates shall enjoy the admission scholarship facility for pursuing ICMAB courses. The scholarship covers the ICMAB admission cost (i.e., Tk. 28,500) as stated in Table 2.
