Partnership with CIU
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the Chittagong Independent University (CIU) based in Chattogram have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On Wednesday, May 08, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the CIU BBA Conference Room, marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals. The MoU was signed by Mr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA, Vice President, ICMAB; Mr. Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam FCMA, Executive Director, ICMAB, and Professor Dr. Syed Manzur Quader, Dean, CIU Business School, in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Uddin FCA, FCMA, President of ICMAB, Mr. Pradip Paul FCA, FCMA Chairman, Chattogram Branch Council, Mr. Mohammad Shaheed, FCA, FCMA, Vice Chairman, Chattogram Branch Council, Mr. Rakibul Islam Mayshan FCMA, Secretary, Chattogram Branch Council and Mr. Rizwan Hassan ACMA, Treasurer, Chattogram Branch Council; Mr. Mohammedul Hoque, Assistant Director, Chattogram Branch, conversely Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of CIU, Professor Dr. Emon Kalyan Chowdhury, Head, Department of Accounting, Dr. Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury, Treasurer, Professor Dr. Mir Mohammed Nurul Absar, Head, Department of HRM, Dr. Moslehuddin Chowdhury Khaled, Associate Professor, Department of HRM, Ms. Umme Humaira, Lecturer, Department of Accounting, Ms. Anjuman Banu Lima, Registrar, Ms. Rooma Dass, Asst. This offer is effective from 8th day of May 2024
ICMAB COURSE WAIVER FOR CIU BBA GRADUATES
CIU BBA graduates shall enjoy the waiver facility for pursing CMA program from ICMAB fulfilling the requirements of Table 1. Moreover, students aspire to pursue CMA program simultaneously with CIU BBA program, shall enjoy waiver of the listed ICMAB subjects (under ‘subject to subject’ waiver of table 1) if they have completed the corresponding subject(s) from CIU with minimum average GPA of 3.20 in a 4-point scale.
