South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Webinar

SAFA International Webinar on “Showcasing the success stories of the leading NPOs and Co-operatives of SAARC Countries –’ BRAC Bangladesh” held on September 25, 2025.
The webinar started with opening remarks by the Committee Chairman of the SAFA Committee for Co-operatives and NPO Sectors, Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, Past President of ICMA Bangladesh, & Secretary, Internal Resource Division and Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Ministry of Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
This has an initiative to organize a series of international webinars by the committee.
Ms. Moutushi Kabir, Senior Director, People, Culture, and Communications from BRAC Bangladesh, acted as the Resource Person and presented the keynote paper on BRAC Bangladesh.
Mr. Ashfaq Yousuf Tola FCA, President, South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), remained in the webinar as Chief Guest, while Mr. Muhammad Yasin FCMA, Vice President from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), remained as Special Guest.
Mr. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA, Vice-President, from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) offered the concluding remarks in the webinar.
The series of webinars aims to identify the factors of success and showcase the success story of these leading NPOs and cooperatives that are impacting the economy and benefiting the society across SAFA member bodies in the South Asian region.
It may be added that the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), a Network Partner of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) comprises eleven accountancy bodies in the South Asian Region, namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan. SAFA has undertaken the leadership role in providing a new direction to the accountancy profession within the region, and this Apex body has over 475,000 members affiliated with its member bodies.
SAFA, as a forum of professional accountancy bodies, is committed to positioning, maintaining, and developing the accountancy profession in the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) region and ensuring its continued eminence in the world of accountancy, in the public interest and towards broad economic development of the SAARC region.
SAFA has 18 different Committees to carry out activities that are considered expedient in furtherance of the development of the Accountancy profession in this region. These committees have been performing to achieve and accomplish SAFA’s goals, and the Committee for Co-operatives and NPO Sectors is one of the active committees of SAFA.
