Seminar on Cost Audit and its Benefit to the Economy
A Seminar on Cost Audit and its Benefit to the Economy and Inauguration of 4-day long Training on Cost Audit was held on May 23, 2017 at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Dhaka. Organized by The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
Mr. M. A. Mannan MP, Hon’ble State Minister for Finance and Planning, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest. Mr. Bharat Bhushan Goyal, Former Addl. Chief Adviser (Cost), Ministry of Finance, Government of India presented the Seminar Paper.
Mr. Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA, President of the Institute presided over the Program. Mr. M. Abul Kalam Mazumdar FCMA, Chairman of the Cost Audit and Professional Service Committee and former President of the Institute in his welcome address mentioned that the present Govt. is committed to enhance productivity through utilization of the country’s scarce resources and creating congenial atmosphere for investment by domestic and foreign entrepreneurs both. He also mentioned that for proper ascertainment of costs, audit of cost accounts is essential. Cost Audit can help determine efficiency of operations by ensuring wastage reduction, controlling usage of materials and energy, cutting overhead expenses and proper utilization of manpower, he mentioned.
Commissioner of Bangladesh Securities & Exchange Commission Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA has commented on the seminar paper and Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, Secretary of the Institute offered the vote of thanks. A good number of members and Students of the Institute attended and participated in the seminar.
