Remembrance program in honor of Professor Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA

Professor Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA was one of CMAs best ambassadors and the beacon of the CMA profession. He used to serve as Treasurer of the Institute. Starting from education, examination, advocacy, branding, regulatory exercise, research, and development, there was no area where Prof. Bala didn’t put his footprint. ICMAB lost this personality on December 22, 2021, and thus created a permanent vacancy that will never be filled.

In recognition of his contribution to the CMA profession, the Institute has organized a remembrance program for Professor Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA on January 02, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at its Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet, Dhaka. Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Treasurer, University of Dhaka, spoke as a colleague of Dr. Bala of Dhaka University. Among others, Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA, Past President and council member, ICMAB; Mr. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA, Council Member, ICMAB; Mr. S.M Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Council Member of ICMAB; and Dr. Md. Musfiqur Rahman FCMA, Professor, University of Dhaka shared their feelings and recalled various memories with Dr. Bala on this occasion.

Ms. Sarbani Bala, younger daughter and Ms. Shikha Roy, wife of late Dr. Bala also spoke on the occasion. They appreciated ICMAB’s endeavor to save Dr. Bala with this kind of remembrance.

ICMAB President Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA said that Dr Bala’s contribution to this profession should not be measured in any sense. Dr. Bala made countless efforts to finalize ICMAB’s Act and Probidhanmala. He was such an amicable personality that no group or team could dislike him. Past Presidents, Council Members, Members and employees of the Institute attended this remembrance program with profound gratitude.
