ICMAB publishes Bangladesh Cost Accounting Standards

ICMAB has published Bangladesh Cost Accounting Standards on 14 December 2014 at ICMA Bhaban, Nilkhet, Dhaka. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Finance, Former Minister, Ministry of Food and Disaster Management, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as Special Guest.

Ten Bangladesh Cost Accounting Standards (BCAS) as developed under the supervision of Mr. M Abul Kalam Mazumdar, FCMA, Chairman of Cost Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards Committee and Past President ICMAB, were unveiled on this occasion. These will be circulated to various organizations in the country and also the member countries in the SAARC region for cost audit purpose.

President of ICMAB Mr. Mohammed Salim, FCMA delivered the welcome address while Mr. Jamal Ahmed Choudhury, FCMA, Secretary ICMAB offered vote of thanks. Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed, FCMA, Chairman of Seminar and Conference Committee also spoke on the occasion. The Chief Guest in his speech thanked ICMAB for its invaluable contribution in the corporate management and governance. He also opined that ICMAB can play a vital role in ensuring transparency and accountability of the financial sector of the country and assured to providing all out support to ICMAB’s capacity building and development. The Special guest appreciated the ICMAB’s ongoing initiative in various fields and especially for maintaining cooperation with foreign counterparts.
