ICMAB Hosted a Training Session on Sustainability Reporting under IFRS S1 and S2
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) successfully conducted an exclusive training session on “Sustainability Reporting under IFRS S1 and S2” on January 25, 2024. This significant event took place at the Annex Building of ICMAB, located in Nilkhet, Dhaka. The training session, meticulously organized by the ICMAB Training Committee, welcomed Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Uddin FCMA, the esteemed President of ICMAB, as the guest of honor. His presence added remarkable value to the event. Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA, who graced the event as the Session Chairman, oversaw the proceedings with insightful contributions. Mr. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA, the treasurer of the Institute, skillfully moderated the session, ensuring a smooth and productive flow of discussions. The ICMAB President inaugurated the session with a heartfelt note of thanks to the Training Committee for addressing such a contemporary and crucial subject.
This event was further enhanced by the expertise of two eminent resource persons: Mr. Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA, past President of ICMAB and Director (Accounts & Finance) of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and Mr. Rafiqul Islam FCMA, Senior Manager & Head of Corporate Finance, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The speakers enlightened the participants about the nuances of sustainability reporting under IFRS S1 and S2, specifically in the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industry context. Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Uddin FCMA expressed his deep gratitude to the resource persons and the attendees, acknowledging their keen interest and active participation. He emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained from this session to enrich the accounting profession further.
The program also witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, immediate Past President of ICMAB, and Mr. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA, Vice President of the Institute.
