ICMAB Holds Career Counselling Seminar at Comilla University on Professional Management Accounting Education

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a career counselling seminar titled “Professional Management Accounting Education in Bangladesh: Implications for Business Graduates” at Comilla University on November 4, 2025.

Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Vice President of ICMAB, attended the program as the Guest of Honor. In his address, he emphasized the importance of acquiring a CMA (Cost and Management Accounting) qualification, which equips graduates with market-relevant skills and opens doors to diverse professional opportunities both at home and abroad.

Mr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA and Mr. S. M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Council Members of ICMAB, joined the seminar as Special Guests. They encouraged the students to pursue the CMA program alongside their academic studies to strengthen their future career prospects.

Dr. Mohammed Belal Uddin FCMA, Professor, Department of Accounting, Comilla University, presented a paper on “Professional Management Accounting Education in Bangladesh: Implications for Business Graduates.” He highlighted the career advantages of earning a CMA qualification, particularly for leadership roles in business organizations. More than 160 students participated in the session.

Other notable attendees included Professor Dr. Mohammad Solaiman, Treasurer; Professor Dr. Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies; all Chairmen under the Faculty of Business Studies, Comilla University; Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman FCMA (F-0486); Professor Abul Kashem, Coordinator (Part-time), ICMAB Cumilla Study Centre; Mr. Md. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director (AAD), ICMAB; and Mr. Kazi Md. Asiful Alam, Officer, ICMAB Cumilla Study Centre.

The seminar aimed to bridge the gap between academic education and professional skill development, inspiring business students to consider the CMA qualification as a strategic step in advancing their careers.
