CMAB has organized a Seminar on “Professional Management Accounting Education in Bangladesh: Implications for the Business Graduates” at Dhaka Commerce College

As a continuous effort to create market awareness about the CMA Professional Qualification, The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) conducted a career counseling seminar on 21 May 2023 at Dhaka Commerce College (DCC), Dhaka.

The program was organized for the undergraduate business students of DCC. Prof. Dr. Abu Masud, Principal, DCC ornamented the program as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Mohammad Salim FCMA, Past President, ICMAB, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Vice-President, ICMAB and Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Secretary, ICMAB were present as the Special Guests of the program.

The program was started by the address from ICMAB Secretary, Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA. He shared the objectives of the program stating different aspects relevant for future job seekers in the hyper-competitive job market and the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Professor Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA, Director, Academic Affairs Division of ICMAB spoke in the seminar as the Resource Person. Dr. Masud highlighted several aspects of the CMA Profession with special emphasis on the academic program of ICMAB. Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Vice President, ICMAB motivated the crowd by exhibiting how CMAs could manage costs, bring clarity to information interpretation, and how the qualification could accelerate career progress. Mr. Mohammad Salim FCMA, Council member and the past president of ICMAB shared his life experience and requested the students to grab the opportunity for differentiating themselves by joining the CMA program. He also emphasized that the ICMAB Mirpur Study Center located on the premises of DCC is an added advantage for them.

The program ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Abu Masud, Principle of DCC. To have a desirable career start, Dr. Abu Masud urged the students to consider positively the CMA program alongside their current academic program. He thanked ICMAB for initiating a career counseling program of this sort and for considering DCC as a valued partner. Mr. Sanjit Saha, Chairman, Marketing Department of DCC, coordinated the program and Ms. Riffat Shabnam, Lecturer, hosted the program. A good number of ICMAB members and officials, chairpersons of different departments, faculty members, and students from the college participated in the program and raised several queries to learn all about the CMA program.

It was a vibrant and interactive session with the active participation of the students.
