ICMAB Delegation met Finance Secretary
A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) headed by its President Mr. Mohammed Salim, FCMA called on Mr. Fazle Kabir, Secretary for Finance, Finance Division, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at his office on March 30, 2014.
The ICMAB delegation apprised the Finance Secretary of the role of Cost and Management Accountants and their contribution towards establishment of transparency, accountability and corporate governance in the business and industrial sectors of the country.
The President, ICMAB in this context briefed the Secretary about the short and long term Development planning of the profession for keeping pace with other similar professional bodies across in globe. He also put emphasis on improvement of the existing education and examination system including modernization of library and class room facilities for the students. The delegation sought active support and guidance of the Finance Secretary in connection with implementation of those schemes for the development of CMA Profession.
The Finance Secretary appreciated the significant role of Cost and Management Accountants and put emphasis on expansion of the professional activities of the Institute in order face the growing demand of this profession in home and abroad. He assured of all possible help and assistance for the development of the Institute as well as the CMA profession.
Mr. Arif Khan FCMA, Vice President, Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, Council Member and Mr. A.K.M Nazrul Islam FCMA, Executive Director of the Institute were among the delegates present on the occasion.
