CBC’s Seminar on “Revival of Global Economy: Challenges and opportunities for Bangladesh”
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), Chittagong Branch Council has organized a daylong international Seminar on “Revival of Global Economy: Challenges and opportunities for Bangladesh” on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Conference Hall of Asian University for Women (AUW), Chittagong.
Dr. Fahima Aziz, Vice Chancellor of Asian University for Women (AUW), Mr. Mahabubul Alam Talukder, President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA president of ICMAB, were present in the seminar as special Guest. Mr. Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA, Executive Director, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited and Secretary of ICMAB presented theme paper on the seminar topic. Mr. M Monoarul Hoque FCMA, Chairman of CBC of ICMAB and Mr. Imtiaz Alam, ACA, FCMA Chairman of seminar & conference committee were also in the dais and spoke on the occasion.
Dr. Fahima Aziz, Vice chancellor of Asian University for Women (AUW), put emphasis on women education for the sustainable development of the country. She thanked ICMAB and as well as CBC for organizing such a good events in AUW premises. Mr. Mahbubul Alam Talukder, in his speech emphasized on good governance and establishment of accountability for economic uplift of the country. He appreciated the CBC’s initiative and hold the view that outcome of the seminar shall be helpful for the policy makers of the country.
The inaugural session was followed by two technical sessions. In the first technical session Mr. Bidyut Kumar Saha, Senior Financial Sector Specialist, Asian Development Bank made a lively presentation on “Economic Development in the Age of the Post Financial Crisis: Perspective Bangladesh” Mohammad Sekandar Khan, Vice Chancellor, East delta University Conducted the session as session chairman.
The second Technical Session was on “Basel II & III- Changing the Landscape of Banking: Perspective Bangladesh” Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed, FCMA, President and CEO, Credit Rating Information and Services Ltd was the distinguished speaker. It was conducted by Mr. Md. Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Managing Director , Karmasangathan Bank of Bangladesh
